Our industry is filled with shiny objects. 8 week Transformations, 6 Week Body Blasts, stand on this vibrating thing and you’ll look like this guy who has been hitting the gym 7 days a week for 25 years and eating meal prepped food for just as long. Eat no carbohydrates, cut out fat…the list goes on argghh!!! Shiny objects only distract us from the bigger picture, which should be long term health and fitness.

I think part of the issue is we want it now. Despite being out of shape for the last 12 months, 2 years, 10 years we want to change it all at the click of a finger. Those shiny objects offer us a way out that is easier than reality! However, there is NO MAGIC PILL! 🙂

From working with many clients over the years there are 4 SIMPLE THINGS that will get you to commit to a long term change:

1. COMMIT to valuing yourself & your body

Sounds corny, but IT’S THE ONLY ONE YOU HAVE! So look after it like it is! NOTHING else matters if you don’t have it so why not prioritise it’s well being? Fuel it with good nutrition and exercise regularly and it will last a long time! 🙂

2. COMMIT to exercising 3-5 days a week

3 days is the sweet spot. Especially when you are first starting out. That’s why we offer unlimited sessions in our groups, to enable you to up your activity levels! We lift weights, run, use body weight. Compound movements performed at a high intensity! SIMPLE. No magic pills. It may not make a pretty Insta post BUT it WORKS.

3. COMMIT to eating better food!

Eat better FOOD! You’d be amazed how much your health markers will improve if you do. And if you want to lose weight it is KEY. Eat the right amount for YOU. If you don’t know what that means, educate yourself! Go see an expert AKA a Dietitian and build a habit DAILY.

4. COMMIT to daily action

Finally and probably most importantly is to put these things into DAILY ACTION! There is no point in reading this article and then doing nothing about it, you have just wasted 5 minutes of your precious time! Raise your standards of what you expect of yourself and TAKE ACTION! Sign up to a gym, make more time for another session, prep your meals! Stop eating crap. You’ll be amazed as to what you are capable of.

I want my clients to experience life to the fullest, get them active, healthy and loving themselves and life! The only way to achieve that is through long term change 🙂
